They had many top ten hits and concert appearances. Personally, I always thought they were great.

to anything they played, especially on the car radio. So for the Boomer gen, we liked them a lot. They had their own exclusive sound, and it fit the times imo.

That song slaps something awesome. One of my favorite songs by them. This was during their 70s revival when they reunited I think.

These days it’s easier to explore other bands and musicians. There are many many bands and other genres that I like and I mix things up all the time.

They had quite a few whopper hits early on. Really good Tin Pan Alley/Brill Building pop hits.

music industry. The references cited are often worth checking out.

Re saying any artist is overrated - you said you don't think Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons are overrated, and I agree. But you were inviting others to say if they felt they were overrated - to criticize them. Please see the guidelines I pinned to the top of the board. People have different tastes, and if people here decided to slam artists they aren't particularly fond of every time someone posted their music, every single thread here could turn into an argument...which kind of kills the music appreciation aspect.

… this refers to professional song writing/selling/publishing history in the US, specifically in NYC—songwriting “mills” where writers worked for publishers and producers cranking out pop music “hits.” In regard to the Four Seasons check out Jersey Boys if you have a chance.

Jersey boys is not what I’d call a documentary on the band as Frankie valli isn’t in it.

Ragdoll still bounces around in my head. And there are so many more that if I hear them I start singing. Dawn, Let's Hang On, Sherry, Oh, What a Night,Candy Girl, watch the Flowers Grow, Big Girls DonT Cry, Walk Like A Man, Big Man in Town, Stay and many more. Frankie Valli
and Smokie made the falsetto famous.
