Bowie’s “Rebel Rebel” enters the UK charts today in 1974 — the defining anthem of 'glam-rock'.

While writing it, Bowie reportedly told his guitarist: “It’s a bit Rolling Stones-y. I just want to piss Mick off a bit.”

I saw Rick Derringer perform a great rendition of "Rebel Rebel" at Comiskey Park, 1977 as I recall. Headliner was Aerosmith, then Jeff Beck.
