(41,217 posts)I never go to that side anymore, so I don't know if they're still popular like they were. I liked the area better when it was just open grassland, but it was technically part of the park & apparently people wanted pickleball.

(41,616 posts)Theres actually an indoor set of pickleball courts in my area and since its near the pet food store I drive by it occasionally. Never see more than a few cars there.

I am an old racketball player. there was a time the courts were all booked up. Lasted about a year or two. Then folks disappeared about as quickly as they came.

(11,910 posts)There is a converted tennis court at a tiny park close to me. It has players every single day.
On the weekends, it looks like they are holding tournaments. They have freaking spectators, for freak's sake!
It isn't dead here, but anyone who was thinking it was going to be added to the Olympics and stuff was just being delusional.
It was a fad. Like all fads, it had an 'in' time, and now that time is gone.
