Good morning my DU family,

As we start a brand new day, I just want to remind everyone how important it is to listen to our bodies at our age.

We don't have the natural coping mechanism or recovery abilities that we did as kids and younger adults, so we really need to take medical issues seriously when they start.

Most of us cannot tolerate extended periods of dehydration or hunger the way we would have in our Yute, so please please please, hydrate and eat enough to supply your body with the energy it needs, especially during these hotter days.

Also, if you have a situation such as a flu or other issues that can become more dangerous as they go untreated, please just go to the ER if things don't get better over a few days. If you're losing lots of fluids through fever or diarrhea, please replace them aggressively with Gatorade or something similar without caffeine and with electrolytes.

Please give us a day filled with opportunities to be a friend to our friends and neighbors by keeping a closer eye out if they're vulnerable during heat waves or just checking on the homebound more often.

Have a community loving day DU,
Love, John
