Sometimes, there are too many coincidences

Last edited Wed Nov 12, 2025, 02:22 AM - Edit history (1)

Ocelot II posted a few picks from the same event. Thank you Ocelot II

I arrived in Minneapolis a week ago Friday, and had what I described as a perfect weekend, where every single thing we planned went off without a hitch.
With some major hiccups in between, we crossed off every item on our last visit bucket list and then some.
I was with dead certainty supposed to leave yesterday when I decided to take this last day and visit one more time.
We had a wonderful visit for a couple of hours, and I was relieved to find out that he will be staying in the hospital for the next week to ten days at least, to enable radiation treatment for his brain tumor.
Then this happened just a few moments ago.
We got a massive Northern lights display that is still going on as I type. I'm trying so hard not to cry, these little "miracles" just keep happening this trip.
I'll find a way to upload the two HEIC pictures, but please know, no matter what you may or may not believe in, it is a storybook ending to what has been in many ways, a storybook journey for the souls of all involved.
Thank you so much more than these words can say.
Love, John

be visible tonight and tomorrow night.

Generally there’s too much light pollution inside the Beltway for that to happen.

And the owner of this house said she's never seen Northern lights here ever before.
The light pollution affected visibility a lot, but it was still such an intense experience, felt inspired, not because of the lights, but the timing for something that never happens this close to the Twin Cities.

light pollution up the wazoo, but here's what I just saw from the alley behind my garage:

I've only ever seen the northern lights from my house once before, and they were pretty faint. Saw a spectacular display from an airplane once. Last year I was chasing them and drove halfway to Duluth to get away from the lights, ended up in Hinckley at 3:00 am but it was worth the trip. But tonight from my back yard it was bright red, and I've never seen that before!

It was stunning to see them so close to the cities. I lived here from 1976-2009 minus 4 years and only ever saw northern lights from Sandstone.

You last night there is filled with light! Enjoy it for me too, it's snowing over here, not sure I'll catch this display.

And it sucked the light right out of the cosmos.

(Psst! There are no coincidences, only signs )
