(75,102 posts)In real life, I believe he is an attorney & he & his wife run a dog rescue. His love & appreciation for dogs is always evident.
Without Warning is the stand-alone exception.

I'm surviving by reading lots of fiction as well. It's much less strange than reality these days, even when reading Chet & Bernie books, narrated by the dog.

(39,308 posts)Stormy Weather was the first book I read after hearing an NPR interview where he read a bit that had me in stitches. I love it then went back and read everything he had previously written. For years I eagerly waited for the next installment.
If you like Hiaasen, you might like Tim Dorsey. Same zany Florida stories, only darker.
