What a wonderful weekend we had. Everything went off without a hitch getting to the football game, and one minor major glitch at the end of the game that just adds to the lore of the event.
I will be shedding rivers of joy as I write this, because, how could you not lol. This is going to be much much harder than I thought.
I have a thousand moments that could tell a story, each worthy of a chapter, like as if scripted, the U of M Marching Band passing literally in front of Rory. I have a video that would make you bawl like a baby, if I can get reconnected to his Wi-Fi later today.
Stadium photo instead.

For those of you that remember the Minneapolis Miracle a few years ago, where we beat New Orleans on the last play of the game, after dominating in the first half and almost losing in the second half but for that miracle.
That pretty well summed up the fantastic Saturday. We led 10-0 at halftime, sacking their quarterback five times in the first half and controlling play even if the score was close. Michigan State outplayed us badly in the second half to the point that they led 17-10 with 1:50 or so left in the game.
Rory and I have shared so many wonderful memories around sports, that we honestly expected something great to happen and it sure did. The Gophers drove down the field and tied it up with less than a minute to play and that's when reality kind of but us in the rear lol. Rorys Metro Mobility ride was scheduled to pick him up in twenty minutes so we had to head down to meet the van.
So we are waiting there and I decided to go get the car I drove to the game so we could all meet back at the house after the game.
Low and behold, the Gophers hold Michigan State to a field goal in the first overtime. While I'm walking to the car, I hear the crowd erupt so I know we won. With Rory sitting outside waiting, and he said it was even better because it was a surprise.
Everyone cried several times during the game, most often when Rory would start by sharing how wonderful this was and then when we'd score etc...
For us to win that game, the way we did, could not have been scripted better, nor could it have affected each of us better than it did.
I'll post some more about the game later tonight or tomorrow and also our wonderful dinner at Emily's.
Rory s kids and grandkids are visiting, so I'll be checking in soon.
Please know my heart is overflowing with gratitude and love for this experience and everything that comes with it and that I couldn't have enjoyed any of this without you..
Thank you with a heart full of love,
John
