Got pix of your or others' cool or funny costumes, displays, etc.?

No trick-or-treaters in my neighborhood, so I'd love to enjoy some vicariously! Pet costumes included, of course.

Dressed in black with yellow safety vests and loaded up wearing tiaras,
diamond necklace, bracelet etc.

It was funny.

hung it around my neck wrote on it "my pet bat" at our lunch Fri.

I also drew very quickly so it was sloppy -a haunted house (broken windows, spider webs, ghosts) with a moon (painted iridescent gold and iridescent light violet glow around it) behind the chimney and bats flying in silhouette. Hung it on thr hook we have on our door. Fun!

I have not had a trick or treater at my residence for almost ten years. (This is the first year in the new apartment. No one came.)

We moved up here to Minnesota, and I was ready for the first Halloween in our new residence.

THEN, I found out that people up here don't seem to enjoy this holiday. Because I saw exactly zero trick or treaters in the nine years I lived in that place. Later on, I figured out that the collection of people who lived in that little group of townhomes all but discouraged anyone from even thinking about doing that there. I was also complained about because I put colored bulbs into the outside fixtures at my place, and that runs afoul of the dictatorship (Pardon me, the H.O.A.) that exits in such places. (They were there for that night, I changed them back the next morning, but that doesn't matter. Conformity matters!)

Since then I have not enjoyed one Halloween. I would decorate the inside of the house, but since no one outside of it wanted to acknowledge the holiday at all, I just tried to be uplifting to myself. (I failed in that as well.)

I miss it terribly, but the reality is that, between the fact that everyone around here is afraid and wary of everyone else, as well as the usual 'Look, someone over the age of ten likes Halloween... PEDOPHILE!!! GET HIM!!!' attitude that exists these days, I guess I will have to just drop this as I have dropped everything else that matters to me.

Another example of how politicians and the "small world" of our current media environment foster alienation and atomization?
