So, How Has Your Day Been?

Hope well. Mine, not so much.
At around 6:50, I got a call from a school 18 miles away that they needed a 8th grade math sub. They start school at 7:45.
So, I hurry to get ready, jump in the car and head there. I called them at a red light letting them know I'd be there before the first class but not "on time".
As I'm turning down a lane in their parking lot, BAM!!!.
HS aged girl hits me broadside. Just jetted out of the spot she was in as I was turning.
Given the low speed, my door is pretty screwed up.
Hope your day has been better than mine.

Nothing close to injuries. But, the car, while still drivable without issue, doesn't look yo good.

as a driver's education instructor?

Hope the insurance/repair hassle is only a mild headache and not an extremely aggravating one.

At least it wasn't your fault. Bet she'll check twice before backing out from now on. Too bad her learning experience was at your expense.

She was going forward! She simply drove into a car that was right in front of her going only 4 or 5mph.

Last Thursday I was driving on the freeway and someone tried to merge into me. I swerved left to try to avoid them but my car spun out at 65mph and crashed into the median. I walked away with no serious injuries but my car was totaled and I didn't have collision insurance so I'm screwed without a car for a while.

I was only going a couple mph coming out of a right turn; in a school parking lot.
And, she wasn't in the parking space I was going by. She was the next one back.
She still hit me hard enough to put a little hole in my passenger side door.
But, still not fast enough to cause injury. My suspension absorbed half the impact. It wouldn't have knock a vase over.
Still, my car doesn't look great.
