Spent the day with my family

My one son-in-law is at his parents, helping them with fall chores and my other son-in-law is working, due home tomorrow. So it was daughters and grandkids, grand dogs and cats today. We get along, and I'm grateful. We met in town early and watched the Halloween Regatta from the Putman St. bridge, quite a view of the town and the rivers. My granddaughter's boat came in 2nd in the last race they were in. We were so proud! But with a sport like crew, everyone wins. We spent the late afternoon at my local daughter's home. I've been out of town for almost 2 weeks, and the pets were all so glad to see me, as much as I was to see them. My grandson has a job, and he got home while I was there, before we left for the evening. Granddaughter dressed up to go out with friends and then spend the night. They are too old to get candy, but not too old to walk around enjoying the event. It is trick or treat night in our area. After that, my daughters and I had dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant. The girls were going to go to a haunted farm and I came home. On my street, I haven't passed out candy for 4 years--no kids. But as I drove toward my house, I saw 3 boys in costumes. I knew there was a new family on the street, down at the other end, haven't really met them. Anyway, I stopped, told them I lived up the street, and gave them a few dollars to get more candy. They were pleased and all 3 said thank you. It was a nice way to finish off the day.
