for a lot of good reasons; it's one of those events where you need to be perfect, or else. They use their own recordings, so it's not like Milli Vanilli, but it's not entirely honest.
But the young woman that was asked to sing in 2020 was so sure of herself, she decided to go no-net, as a vocal coach breaks down:

(75,279 posts)I thought she sang it well and I feel like this guy made the video for political points and not actually reaction to her performance.
Plus, the dude is not as entertaining as he seems to believe he is.

to source my claim. If I had said "she did it live" with no citation, I would have had to post this, or something, to back it up.
At any rate, it was an epic performance.

(75,279 posts)I'm not surprised she went "without a net". She's been a risk taker her whole professional life.
Worked for her so far.
Also, for all we know, she did have a prerecorded version, in case she had a sore throat or something.
If she woke up that morning feeling fine, it was "let it rip".

(15,044 posts)About all that sleepy Joe bullshit. I dont give a crap what he says about anything else.
As far as the singing, I have heard our National Anthem (which I dont like and think is one of the worst) so many times and have cringed through most of them. But it still gives me chills when I hear this rendition by Lady Gaga. It really meant something that day after what we had all been through for 4 years and on Jan. 6. She nailed it so perfectly.
Oh, and anyone with eyes and ears could tell she was singing live. We dont need an obnoxious vocal coach to state the obvious.
