Remember rock 'n' roll ad jingles?

Last edited Sat Oct 18, 2025, 06:44 AM - Edit history (1)

Dino, Desi and Billy did one for RC Cola and another one whose product escapes me. Some group did one for Rath weiners and somebody did one for Maclean's toothpaste. And a band that sounded like The Byrds did one for Boone's Farm Apple Wine.

Dunno why I can't think of the other one with Dino, Desi and Billy.

Edit: It just came to me. Can't find a video, but it was a pop-rock version of this classic jingle:

The Rolling Stones - Rice Krispies TV Commercial - Snap, Crackle, Pop (1964)

This Kellogg’s Rice Krispies TV commercial was created with the ad agency J. Walter Thompson. Brian Jones, a founding member of the Rolling Stones, wrote the jingle, and it was recorded by the band circa 1964. The Stones were paid 400£ for the performance, which is roughly equivalent to $4,000 in today's US dollars, adjusted for inflation.

"Juke Box" was the name of the spot, and it briefly aired in England in 1964.
