Found a sixty year old letter from my best friend telling me how fucked up things were due to his drug use. He was

dropping and failing classes in university. Only the fact that his father was a Dean at OSU kept him from being expelled. After that we lost contact. Several years later I learned that his wife had found him dead in bed on New Year’s morning.
His wife’s family exercised their political influence and had his death ruled an accidental drug overdose. His brothers told me he had been a junkie all those years and couldn’t kick the habit.

I miss him every day!
