(10,764 posts)... I'd hazard a guess that the attacker would be a Reform... oops I mean Deform voter. Though the attacker opted to vote for being deformed instead.

(6,767 posts)I wouldn't mess with him and I am 11 years younger and a former practitioner of close-quarters combat techniques. I say former to mean over 30 years ago. Plus I am out of shape and hate confrontation.

(30,740 posts)this reminds me of an old MADD Magazine cartoon. A skinny fella is laying on the beach with his girl friend and a huge guy walks by and kicks sand in his face. The skinny guy signs up for Charles Atlas school of body building and after while he changes into a muscle bound stud. He takes his girl friend to the beach again and this enormously huge giant guy kicks sand in his face.
There's always someone.

Summary is that a former junior boxer (who also served in the Royal Engineers in North Africa ) beat the crap out of a would be home intruder who attacked him with a knife. Pensioner restrained him. Police stated would be thief looked like he'd been in a car wreck.

Recorder Angela Morris said: 'Luckily, Mr Corti was an able-bodied 72-year-old who was able to defend himself.
'The jury might well have concluded you got what you deserved when you entered that property and took a swipe at him with that weapon.
'The elderly and vulnerable people are entitled to demand the protection of courts from people like you who decide to take matters into your own hands and enter a property with a weapon.'
