I went to the Dollar Tree today

I had to replace the Barbies that my dog chewed up. My almost 3 year old granddaughter was tired of the attrition. I'm here to report that the base price for items is now $1.75, with most things more expensive than that. The world turns.

But I get them to make character dolls, which means not only dressing them from scratch but ofte also restylin their hair - so I don't need the hair to be perfect. So that might not work for you.

I haven't seen Barbies at the thrift stores. In my experience, the granddaughters destroy the hair and costumes in the first half-hour of playing. None of our used ones would make it at the thrift store.

Well at the Walmart one of the few places I can walk to to get stuff I had a rude shock.

2 packs of fancy feast cat food 12 cans each, a half gallon of milk and an 18 pack of eggs set me back 32 bucks today.

This Walmart mind you is close to a subsidized housing complex and if you can’t afford or drive a car it’s one of the few places you can go without taking a hike. Carrying heavy bags on a hike home really sucks btw.

I am awaiting the gullotine.
