(42,809 posts)Rather amazing that I've seen it only about five times, as I was in the business (small-town, though) a few years later. Not only does it tell the story of breaking and following up on the Watergate scandal with great authenticity (though quite abbreviated, for obvious reasons), it captures perfectly the feel of a newsroom and how reporters and editors interact as they do their jobs.
Imagine trying to make such a film about The Felon. It won't happen until he and all his attorneys are six feet under.

(31,694 posts)The movie obviously adheres to the notion that Richard Nixon was the very worst president with which that this country would ever be burdened. Present-day politics demonstrate what a profound miscalculation that was. trump makes Nixon look responsible, by comparison. Don't hold your breath, waiting for trump to do the proper thing by getting on a copter and flying the fuck out of our lives...
