(1,894 posts)...nudity.
As to where someone would wear this? It's couture, a concept piece, so it works anuwhere someone might want to highlight a provacative piece designed to elicit discussion.
As has happened here, sorta!

(74,875 posts)I like the dress as well.
Cleverly done.
Visually nice.

(1,894 posts)It's an art form that can sneak into public discourse in ways other arts can't. Take for instance the Melania "I don't care do you" jacket, or AOC's "Tax the rich" Met Gala dress, two examples familiar to DU'ers.

(74,875 posts)I have often thought DU needs a fashion forum.

(1,894 posts)Just from browsing magazines, thinking carefully, watching Project Runway, and reading Vanessa Friedman of the NYT, who often discusses the interplay of fashion and politics.
And, I suppose, participating in a subculture where what you wear communicates who you are, what you want, who you want to do things with, etc etc.

(74,875 posts)I have degrees in psychology and political science.
And love high fashion. So yes it is interesting.
I will go read VF.
I hope one day we can go back to the garden. Where it doesn't matter if you are male or female. Where it doesn't matter what your age is. Where it doesn't matter what your gender is. Just respect.

(2,221 posts)I realized two things: most fashion is uncomfortable and not designed for real people, and I don't have the right body to wear so called fashionable clothes.
Edited to add: like most so called fashion, definetly a nay. 👎👎👎

(13,382 posts)but where the hell would you wear a bunch of eggplants???
womanofthehills
(10,380 posts)But I live in the country with rattlesnakes. I think the last time I wore a dress was about 5 yrs ago for a wedding.
I live outside a small town of about 900 residents. I cant remember the last time I saw anyone in town in a dress. Skirts occasionally.
Even my daughter and granddaughter- neither one has worn a dress since grade school.
I think the egg plant dress is cool to wear if you are a narcissist at a Hollywood event.
I graduated from Parsons School of Design in graphic design but many of my friends were in the fashion design dept where anything goes. Kamalas step daughter, Ella Emhoff, went to Parsons and I like the quirky way she dresses.
