Dogs stealing food

I had a Shepard/Akita mix. Very big dog, looked like a wolf, but gentlest dog. Any way my sister and I put a pork roast in a toaster oven on the kitchen counter to cook while we ran to the store. A little later we got back to find that the dog had taken the whole roast out of the oven and ate it. It was one of those large fresh hams. He didn't get burned either that I could see.

It was our son’s birthday party maybe fifth or sixth in age party.
The lab at that time the pup was maybe six months old climbed up on dining room table and ate a whole pizza.

my wife's brother and his family brought along their cairn terrier (like Toto from Wizard of Oz). He jumped up on the dining table when no one was looking and ate an entire stick of butter. Then he promptly went to the living room and threw up the entire contents of his stomach, a horrid smell that emptied the room. We shampooed the carpet several times, which took out the smell but not the stain. Eventually we had to replace the entire carpet.
