(27,703 posts)I'll bet the deer photobomb was that young couple's favorite picture from their wedding. It would have been if it were from my wedding.

(13,628 posts)In old movies, and even older paintings, the people are strikingly different from us, in their hairstyle, clothing, speech, walk, behavior. They always seem foreign to us, even if the movie is only a few decades old. But the animals always look and act the same as they do today. They live outside our bubble of human trappings and status and we love them for it.

What a beautiful set of photos.
There is one that is unlabeled. It is immediately after the very poignant photo of the dying girl with the giraffe. Are those 4 bear paws 🐾 sticking out from some lush greenery?

And, no, we do not deserve animals. They are so much better than the human animal.

So many, but my personal favorite is the deer crashing the wedding photo, going after the bride's bouquet. Must have been mighty alluring flowers!
Love the couple's delighted surprise.

(42,743 posts)because we don't make the effort to try.
Many/most of us consider our species superior to critters for a number of reasons, comminication being at or very near the top of that list. Most of us can only guess at what critters try to tell us -- again, because we don't make the effort to understand. Veternarians such as you have a great advantage at this because you spend much of your time at just that, and I envy that ability.
Have critters ever started a war? Have they ever killed for any reason other than survival? They only want to exist, and in many cases that means coexisting, because they understand we all have to share and protect our environment.
Who are the superior ones?
