Friday Night Vodka Buzz. Ask me anything.

Two shots to get the party started. Now a Tequila Mockingbird. Tequila, créme de menthe, and lime juice. Yummy! It’s like a very slightly minty Margarita.

Mercilessly awful day in clinic today. Everybody wants their little aches and pains looked at before the weekend. But the whole day was people showing up late, throwing off the schedule, and then complaining of symptoms so nebulous, non-specific, and vague that they could be anything.

One patient showed up nearly a half hour late, and then had the audacity to “Oh! One more thing…” me at the end of her visit.

Hold me, Loungers. I need it…

I love you all…

It’s my birth month. And it’s when the cold, gray skies and rainy Fall days that I cherish so much return after awful, hot, hot summer.

4. What cocktail tells you how good a bartender is?

Mine is the Negroni, followed by the Whiskey Sour. Both require perfect proportions and a deft touch. The latter you order for the ladies, the former for your bros. A bad bartender will spoil your night with either.

No other cocktail, in my opinion, varies so widely from bartender to bartender.

I had an amaretto sour a couple of times. A little too sweet for me, though. Made my tongue break out...

17. An Amaretto sour??? A bit contradictory, one would think.

I love Amaretto, but not in a Sour. As weird as chocolate-covered bacon.

There’s a Mexican restaurant in town here that makes chicken enchiladas molé to die for.

Despite being a proud owner of this cocktail classic -https://www.ebay.com/itm/177294818560 - my own preferences are limited to gin martini, Manhattan, Bourbon with seltzer water over ice and a twist of lemon, and g&t. Thanks to Esquire’s Handbook for Hosts, however, my martinis and Manhattans are second to none.

As for your frustrating day, please enjoy your evening and don’t let the bastards get you down!

14. My bar book has over a thousand recipes for cocktails.

Don’t worry; I’m not going to try them all. Some call for grapefruit juice, and at least one calls for clam juice. Bleh! Not interested in any of those.

There’s a whole chapter on drinks made with sake. I’ll get to those eventually.

I don’t know if you saw my post about inventing my own cocktail: the Cascade Sunset. It’s basically a vodka and tonic, with an ounce of limoncello added, and a splash of Aperol. You should try it!
