We have a gas stove indoors that I consider a greater risk. Porch has a concrete floor. Decks burn.

(9,391 posts)10. Thanks nitpicked. The walkway was here already. The previous owners built it for her wheelchair-bound grandmother.
The owners also installed "grab bars" in the shower for her. They left us the nicest house of my 73 years.
It just occurred to me what PITA means and I agree wholeheartedly with you. Thank You!

likely to have more discretion to risk setting fire to their homes, or covering windows, siding, etc., with soot and grease, it's really not a great idea. I do have some relatives with a large brick outdoor kitchen built beside their pool, but that's not only much safer than Allan's porch, it's well away from their house.
