but decided to sell them to someone else who had Nova Scotia connections. For now all I have are the ones my parents used for the last 30 years of their lives. I don't drink so they are probably very dusty but are on a very high shelf so I can ignore the dust. I don't drink myself as an alcoholic. I don't have guests over. I just like to have them to remember those long political talks my Dad and I would have as dinner wound down and the two glasses of wine we had at dinner were almost gone. Or how my mom could not drink red without getting a headache so mostly we had white wine with dinner. Good times.

A year or 2 before covid, at our NY Botanical Garden there was a whole series of Chilluly glass sculptures and objects all around the place. Glorious!

I visited my grandson and his wife. If was of course beautiful. His Millennium Tree is at the Clinton Library, so I'd like to go see that since I missed it at the White House. I did see one of his exhibits in Chicago too. Have a couple books on his pieces.

I'll look up the Millenium tree.

Oh, and at one of my cousin's wedding the big reception room had a pink one hanging down from the ceiling. A great surprise!

I worked in a lab and occasionally we would have the glass blower in the chemistry department make some apparatus for our research. When visiting him, I overheard him exclaim in his British accent, "I do not accept potters in my glass blowing class because they are in the habit of touching their work."

for your lab!

As a kid I would ride my bike there and watch the blowing. I spent many hours there.

I leaned a bit of it in college to be able to repair damaged lab glassware.
We used an old sewing machine with a rheostat to run it slow to make coils to replace broken ones in a condenser.
Learned flattening & smoothing to fix breaks in large reaction flasks.
Made a Dewar's flask, including the sintered top.
But, I couldn't do a vase or a bowl. Well, I probably couldn't do any of it today.

In your life. Something to be proud of. All the skills and artistry that make you, you are a good thing.

from our town. I went there with my mom when it was still operating, got to watch several glass making processes. My best friend took a glass-making class in Cleveland and gave me a large bead she made

I hope you made something with it or put it on a nice chain.

Or decorative cord when I wore jewelry. Don't wear it often now
