Martin Ellingham in Doc Martin. He's rude, aloof, has a poor bedside manner but he's great at diagnosing what's wrong with you. He doesn't put up with fools or idiots even if they're his fellow doctors but he does care about is patients even if he doesn't show it.
I've had a number of doctors being in the military and being retired receiving my medical care at a Navy clinic. Most have been very good and there's been one or two who hardly talked to you. The one I have now is great! I can put up with rudeness if the person is good at their profession and cares.

(21,400 posts)Loved Dr Fiscus (Howie Mandel) and Boomer (David Morse). First big break for a lot of these guys. Mark Harmon and Denzel too.

(21,400 posts)David Morse has had a lot of roles. He never became an A lister, but he's a very good actor.

(177,992 posts)Ed Flanders appears in several episodes. That man was an excellent actor, so it's sad that he committed suicide.

I'm going to share a heartfelt exchange between Sawyer talking to Jack about Jack's father.
