You know, back in the day, people did not have the huge wedding celebrations for the second, third, fourth and fifth times. The brides certainly didn't wear the white wedding gown on their fourth trip down the aisle (yes, I'm referring to you, JLo). They would wear a nice suit and have a small gathering of family and close friends. In other words, tasteful and classy. Lauren Bacall wore a simple suit to her wedding to Bogey; even though it was her first marriage, it was his fourth. Now it's the whole shebang, costing millions of dollars and for what? An ostentatious show of how much money you have and to show off how many famous people you know.

who are starting out in life with an empty apartment. When people get married later on in life it still has social importance but I think smaller and tasteful are the right idea.
