Answer to the question: what is the safest seat on an airplane in case of a crash?

My answer: one where you can kiss your ass goodbye.

I tried that on hubby and he didn't think it was funny...

Quick google, the survival rate for plane crashes generally is 95%, and even in the most serious crashes, the survival rate is 55%.

Hardly appealing, but it's not nearly the 99% certainty of instant death most people assume.

Ramesh had managed to escape by “jumping out the emergency exit door”, said local police. According to photos of his boarding pass published by the Hindustan Times, Ramesh had been seated in 11A, which was at the window of the emergency exit. His brother, Ajay, had been seated in the same row on the other side of the aircraft.

The emergency exit door is over the wings. thsnks for playing.

Due to a "crumple zone." Except for planes with tail mounted engines, you don't want to be near them.

I want some measure of control, even if things are going south in a hurry. And if the worst happens, at least I’m first at the scene of the accident.

I always told copilots that if you ever survive an airline accident as a crew member, you will soon wish you hadn’t.

'Traffic saved me': Student missed Air India crash by just 10 minutes

When she arrived at the gate the plane was still there but they would not let her on.

Her lucky day.
