Mini Saint Bernard. She is having surgery this morning to try and fix the recurring brown recluse spider bite that’s been a painful wound since December.
Such a sweet and loving pup 🐶
She doesn’t deserve what she’s been through.
I’ll be thinking of your good day wishes as we struggle through the next several hours.

Her name is Apollo. (All my pets are named after mythical goddesses or gods.)
They sent me home to wait, which is the hardest part.
Apollo is sensitive to medications and I was fortunate to talk at length with the vet about my concerns. As a medical professional, I know (and have seen) that medical errors are one of the leading causes of death. Sometimes ignorance is bliss.
Apollo’s older brother Ajax, is even more stressed than I am, but he seems comforted as I talk to him calm and gently; and promising that he will go with me to pick up Apollo after she recovers from her surgery. He's already lost three of his Saint Bernard siblings and went into a deep depression each time.
