(991 posts)I just loved how much respect was shown this young lady, how accepting the shop owner was. We need more of that in this world!

(289 posts)so kindly for sharing this touching story! I always loved having Downs syndrome children in my class. They, and all my students, always taught me so much more than I taught them. One year a sweet little Downs girl latched onto the jacket of one of the boys. It was a jacket that had a bunch of airplane patches sewn on it. She would go to the coat rack and put it on. He was so sweet and said no problem, she could wear it. He started coming every day with 2 jackets so she could wear that one out to recess. 🩷 As Willy Wonka said to Charlie, So shines a good deed in a weary world. Thank you again for posting this!🩷
