Why are there lines of text here on DU that are highlighted in pale yellow? sorry, if this is the wrong place to ask.

I can't understand the significance and can't find another place on DU to ask.

1. When you post an OP or a reply, there is a bar btwn Reply Title and Reply Text

There are buttons for Bolding, Italics, Underscoring, Strike through, yellow highlight, monospace, links, quoted excerpt, and block indentation.

If you see pale yellow instead of bright yellow, then your screen is too bright.

The yellow is just for highlighting for emphasis at the choice of the poster.

3. OK, so I didn't do anything, it's the poster's trying to emphasize their post message. Thanks.

choice: none, 5 newest, and recommended. If you click 'none', all the pale yellow goes away. Just go and click through the choices and observe the differences.

5. Since the OP asked about "text" and not "titles", I replied the way I did. Do you mean the Reply titles?

If you mean the post titles in the list of post titles that functions as a kind of Table of Contents, then the other responders have it right.

But if you mean "lines of text" inside the replies, that is what I thought you meant.
