White House grapples with how to sell Trump agenda

(The Hill) President Trump and White House officials are grappling with how best to sell their agenda to the American people ahead of next November’s crucial midterm elections.

Trump’s approval ratings are flagging, his sweeping tariffs are at risk in front of the Supreme Court, and Democrats won big in statewide elections in New Jersey and Virginia in early November, putting the president and Republicans on the back foot.

White House allies argued Trump does not lack for accomplishments, pointing to a major tax and spending bill and a number of fulfilled campaign promises. The question, sources close to the administration said, is how Trump and his team will persuade voters they are better off.

All they talk about is the TRILLIONS of debt ... no mention in the M$M nowadays about how they gave it away to the Billionaires again!!!

Cuts to social safety net ... plundering assets ... they have a hard sell ahead. There's nothing for poor people except being suckers.

They simply can't fathom why 99.9% of voters are not over-the-moon on tax cuts to billionaires--not even basic millionaires. If THAT is there only accomplishment and "sell," boy, they are in deep trouble. Good.

I suspect Trump will spend the next year handing out token gifts to the common folk. All a production. All a show. TV commercials out the ass. MSM carrying his water. But he has NO stamina to do it himself. And really, other Republicans subordinates won't have the juice to pitch it either. It will feel flat and desperate.
