If this was intended to solidify their control of the military, it failed miserably.
They showed no respect, and will get the same in return.
They were told they're fat, and then saw a old, fat, tired, demented president take the stage and give a master class on how not to lead.
The idea that they can use military operations in cities as a training ground for war is disgusting.

Military leaders from across the globe to listen to his speech in person. There was no disclosure of sensitive information as it was broadcast on Fox and CSPAN. He could have saved a bunch of time and money by doing it in a Zoom meeting or even with a memo.

Hegseth probably would neither care nor be able to articulate his standards. What turns him on and gets him off, and that was pretty obvious from his demeanor when he was lecturing his superiors in rank and intellect, is the act of ordering them around like schoolchildren.
