We tankers were a hard-drinking bunch; but we never did it on the job. He can't even adhere to that relatively low standard.

I don't believe for a minute that they have any love for Trump. I'm also sure they see Hegseth as arrogant, stupid, and disrespectful to their rank.
Also, I'm sure the video of this clown show angered tens of thousands of retired officers.
If this was intended to solidify their control of the military, it failed miserably.
They showed no respect, and will get the same in return.
They were told they're fat, and then saw a old, fat, tired, demented president take the stage and give a master class on how not to lead.
The idea that they can use military operations in cities as a training ground for war is disgusting.
It was a mistake that Trump and Hegseth will probably never even realize they made, but the officers will never forget.

Military leaders from across the globe to listen to his speech in person. There was no disclosure of sensitive information as it was broadcast on Fox and CSPAN. He could have saved a bunch of time and money by doing it in a Zoom meeting or even with a memo.

It was obviously just for show either for his own ego or his boss; however, it did serve one important purpose: our military leaders got to witness first hand the demented insanity of their Commander-in-Chief.

Hegseth probably would neither care nor be able to articulate his standards. What turns him on and gets him off, and that was pretty obvious from his demeanor when he was lecturing his superiors in rank and intellect, is the act of ordering them around like schoolchildren. It is the act of openly showing them his utter disrespect that gives Hegseth the high he seeks.
