Redacted: The Real Epstein List

Jeffrey Epstein was not a self-made man. His success, especially in the early days, depended on the largesse of the rich and powerful men and women with whom he curried favor. He was an opportunist. His genius, if we can call it that, lay in cultivating and leveraging relationships with important people, both in the United States and around the world. He made himself indispensable to these individuals.

Along the way, he invented his own mythology. Epstein the genius. Epstein the intellectually curious. Epstein the financial wizard. All carefully crafted mythos. All bullshit.

Below is the real “Epstein list.” Not the men accused of raping and sexually abusing the girls trafficked by him and Ghislaine Maxwell—although there may well be a significant overlap on that odious Venn diagram. Here is a list, long but hardly exhaustive, of the individuals who elevated him, who hired him, who funded him, who enabled him, who befriended him, who partook of his services, and, in some cases, were his partners in crime.

Let me be clear, right up front, that the inclusion of the names below DOES NOT imply guilt of rape or sexual abuse or any other crime, and should not be construed as such.

3. Good info here - recommended reading

The author says that Stefanie Koff dismisses Donald Barr - father of Bill Barr - as an early influencer to Jeffrey Epstein, and she says the biggest influence to Epstein was Alan "Ace" Greenberg.

Mr. Greenberg first met Jeffrey when Greenberg's son was a student at the Dalton School. How was it possible that Epstein, who dropped out of college and lacked a degree of any kind, was hired to teach upper-grade math at the prestigious Dalton School? That has always been a mystery ... but he was originally hired by Mr. Donald Barr, the principal of Dalton.

Epstein didn't last long at the school, maybe only 1 or 2 years, and his next job was as an investment advisor for Bear-Stearns where he scored introductions to some of the wealthiest men and women in the US. "Ace" Greenberg the CEO of Bear-Stearns gave young Jeffrey a warm recommendation that opened many doors. Once Epstein got the chance to meet America's wealthiest people, his charm, street-smarts, and cunning did the rest.

This is an interesting article, and it's well-researched. However this background info doesn't delve into Epstein's activities as a child-molester or pedophile. It should be regarded as background info on how he made extraordinary wealth in his 20s and early 30s - far younger than most investment advisors.

4. The sex trafficking and the financial activities are all of a piece.

Epstein wasn't just a child molester and a sex pest - he was trafficking girls and women all over the world, which takes a lot of money, and it also makes a lot of money. The money was in service of the trafficking and vice-versa; figure out where the money went and the rest of it will be unraveled too.

5. OK, you're right - but Wall Street managers weren't required to look into that

Banks like JPMorgan were supposed to file their SARs - Suspicious Activity Reports - and they failed to file SARs for Epstein on several occasions.

This is something different, Epstein was a glorified sales rep while he worked for Bear-Stearns, but he was also someone who brought in new clients to the firm by handling their accounts. That means he functioned more like a partner in a law firm. There are rules and regulations on how the banks and law firms are supposed to operate, but not so much for the Wall Street guys.

Epstein got away with a shit-ton of stuff and never got caught while he worked for Bear-Stearns, that we know of.
