Donald Trump said that AI companies cant be expected to pay for the use of copyrighted content in their systems, amid a fierce debate over the use of intellectual property in training models.
Speaking at the AI Summit on Wednesday, Trump said: You cant be expected to have a successful AI program when every single article, book or whatever youve studied youre expected to pay for. We appreciate that, but you just cant do that because its not do-able. And if youre going to try and do that, youre not going to have a successful program.
Trump called for what he characterized as common sense artificial and intellectual property rules, saying that the U.S. cant afford to fall behind China, which does not have strong IP protections.

His speech was to mark the White Houses release of an AI Action Plan that prioritizes building out the countrys AI capabilities, including data centers and other support, while removing regulatory barriers.

Why cant they be expected to pay for copyrighted content? Volume is irrelevant. Like the number of felonies you have been convicted of?
unafraid of the monster unregulated AI has/will become...especially in the hands of corporations like that. ugh
nice shot at the felonies
