CBS Gave Us All the Middle Finger...Colbert and Meidas?!!

By Ben Meiselas

CBS has destroyed itself for Donald Trump. They gave us all the middle finger again.

By the time its parent company, Paramount, merges with Skydance for $8 billion, it’s not even clear what is left of CBS as a news network. They gutted 60 Minutes. Their top executives left. Last night they announced they were getting rid of Stephen Colbert and the entire Late Night franchise.

I wrote an open letter to Stephen Colbert yesterday that has already been read over a million times. I called on Colbert to join us at the MeidasTouch Network. The responses we’ve received have been overwhelmingly positive.

The reality is that CBS does not have a real audience. None of these legacy networks do anymore. People watched CBS for the programs and hosts they trusted. CBS controlled the distribution on a key channel and people didn’t have other options. CBS took its audience for granted. They got rid of their best news shows and the top comedian today. Is CBS going to rebrand itself as a MAGA channel now? Good luck with that.

So instead, I just saved myself $71/year.

I'll figure out another way.

It's disappointing to know that the end is near, but it is not here.

SNW is much better than Discovery.

I am waiting for the whole season 3 of SNW to be available in September, then I'll do a one-month subscript to Paramount.

SNW seasons 1 and 2 are available on Prime, but for only the next two weeks.

I have since decided I can live without seeing that show. No more Paramount+ for me, they can F right off.

I have thought for a long time that the comedy shows about politics were maybe not a great idea. In my opinion, this appealed to many people but it became a substitute for real news. It also trivializes current events and encourages a cynical attitude of making fun of politics. As it turns out politics is a deadly serious matter. I think these comedy shows have damaged our politics. So I am happy to see these go. Everything is not a funny joke in life.

Jesters often are the ONLY truth tellers. Give me a sharp comedian over a smarmy "news" commentator ANY DAY!

The execs only want the payout from the Skydance merger and then they will be on their way.
