Trump opposition may be reforming and replacing two-party politics in the United States.
https://signalpress.blogspot.com/2025/04/with-political-favors-coming-from.htmlTrump resistance and opposition, however, is going in a bit of a different direction. There are signs that "corporeal politics" are developing in response to the tyranny that is unquestionably unfolding. Perhaps in spite of the scattered policy wonk messaging that Democrats are known for, a simpler message is appealing to people and capturing their attention. That message is, "Get him out." That seems to be the one thing providing the energy and enthusiasm that is getting people into the streets, and motivated to action against the war on our democracy and our freedom. Democrats who want to lead need to pay attention to this message, and get on board with it.
Just before the election, in fact, when polls were bouncing up and down like tennis balls, a political analyst, Rachel Bitecofer, appeared on the David Pakman podcast, and said that there was still a way for Democrats to concentrate their messaging and win enough support to eke out a narrow win. They didn't follow her advice. And they lost by a razor thin margin. Somehow, that has caused this paralysis of leadership. The poll numbers are dismal for Trump, but they are a disaster for Democrats. And yet, a clear majority of Americans are highly dissatisfied with everything Trump is doing.
Democrats need to hook up with the opposition's message. Messaging is difficult for Democrats but this is an opportunity that cannot be wasted.

(2,664 posts)The problem is how unfortunately, Trump isnt going anywhere.
And how many of those who respond to this message stayed home last November, allowing the manifestation of the Trump fascist regime, or otherwise denied Democrats access to the levers of power to get him out.

(177 posts)It's certainly true that Democratic messaging techniques in recent years leave quite a bit to be desired. I still don't think that even pre-Trump GOP viewpoints were that attractive.
Democrats need to resume the economic issues and the importance of efficient provision of government services and greatly decrease any emphasis on divisive social issues.

(6,431 posts)Constitutionally, "getting him out" would involve impeachment and removal, invoking the 25th Amendment declaring him incapacitated, or pressuring him into resigning, and all of those things are more possible than we might believe. The GOP isn't exactly the party of integrity, and things are quite bad and getting worse for their election chances in 2026. It wouldn't be possible today, but I don't think it would take much to push it to the point of an impeachment and removal.
I think he's going to wind up being declared mentally incapacitated. He's already there, it is only a matter of time before it gets worse.
