Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said Pentagon systems have detected an air quality issue necessitating precautionary measures until we determine its significance.
The Defense Department is carrying out standard protection protocols that includes the shelter-in-place order for the affected area of the building.
CNN reported that firefighters and emergency medical services staff had reported to the scene over what it called a hazardous materials incident.

(303 posts)the air quality alerts that bombard our cities regularly throughout the year dont prompt enough alarm of the increasing pollution and what it is doing to the most vulnerable.
The children and elderly whose pulmonary, respiratory, and micro plastic, cellular lives that are irreparably damaged dont warrant any remediation. In contrast- the war machine is alarmed if some airborne particulates invade their officious sanctity. We are a morally damaged America first- the actual people second.
