Hegseth calls for Sen. Mark Kelly to be investigated by Pentagon for second time

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Sunday called for Sen. Mark Kelly to be investigated over comments he made about US weapon stockpiles, marking the second time the Pentagon chief has opened a review into the Democratic senator.

Hegseth slammed the retired Navy captain and former astronaut for expressing concern on CBS’ “Face the Nation” over US weapons stockpiles amid the Iran war, saying Kelly was “blabbing on TV” about a classified Pentagon briefing. “Did he violate his oath…again? @DeptofWar legal counsel will review,” Hegseth posted on social media Sunday evening.

Kelly said earlier Sunday that following briefings by the Pentagon on munitions, including Tomahawks, ATACMS and Patriot rounds, he found it “shocking how deep we have gone into these magazines.”

“We’ve expended a lot of munitions. And that means the American people are less safe. Whether it’s a conflict in the western Pacific with China or somewhere else in the world, the munitions are depleted,” Kelly, who sits on the Senate Armed Services and Intelligence committees, told CBS News’ Margaret Brennan.

But it’s pretty obvious that his prick is tiny, since he’s constantly trying to compensate for it.

That's probably why we're not bombing right now and are instead hemming and hawing about the purported "ceasefire" still holding, and left doing big bad wolf huffing and puffing and threatening to blow their stone house down.. They apparently crossed the inventory red line.

And Hegseth is looking for someone to blame (Yes, that makes no sense, but then nothing does in this maladministration).

When Biden seemed as though he’d be the 2020 Dem candidate, Trump tried to bribe Zelenskyy to sully Biden. Trump was impeached. If Trump views Kelly as a strong Democratic possibility, he’s probably pressuring Hegseth every day to damage Kelly.

Just my thoughts.

that ammo stocks are dropping low. What is criminal about that? Anybody in the world could see the US bombed Iran quite a bit, and thus, of course our ammo stocks dropped/dipped.

Whinny little baby, just like tRUMP is. No wonder that the two of them got together somehow.

Kelly is a hero, one who served also in one of the most deadly of occupations, being a astronaut and going into space.

tRUMP of course didn't serve as his foot hurt. Hegseth forgot that he investigated Kelly from before (or ignored it), probably due to too much alcohol or something...

America’s Gorbachev

MOSCOW, Feb 9 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump said he has spoken to Russian President Vladimir Putin by phone about ending the war in Ukraine, the New York Post reported, the first known direct conversation between Putin and a U.S president since early 2022.

Trump, who has promised to end the war in Ukraine but not yet set out in public how he would do so, said last week that the war was a bloodbath and that his team had had "some very good talks".

In an interview aboard Air Force One on Friday Trump told the New York Post that he had "better not say," when asked how many times he and Putin had spoken.

Snip…

Washington Post journalist Bob Woodward, in his 2024 book "War", reported that Trump had direct conversations as many as seven times with Putin after he left the White House in 2021.

Asked if that were true in an interview to Bloomberg last year, Trump said: "If I did, it's a smart thing." The Kremlin denied Woodward's report.
