President Donald Trump’s ties to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein were reportedly highlighted in a video projected onto a hotel hosting the annual White House Correspondents’ Association dinner this weekend.
Aaron Parnas posted a two-minute clip on X on Friday, saying a video “highlighting Trump’s relationship with Epstein is being displayed on the side of the building where Trump will attend the dinner.” Reuters shared a photo showing an image of Trump and Epstein projected on a building in Washington, D.C. on Friday, identifying it as the Washington Hilton. The dinner will be held at the hotel on Saturday.
It comes as Trump’s planned attendance of the dinner for the first time as president has brought fresh scrutiny on the event, particularly given his combative relationship with the press. Newsweek has contacted the Washington Hilton and the White House for comment via email.
Why It Matters
The source of the video montage remains unclear, but the incident appears to seek to use the attention on the annual dinner to bring the spotlight back on Trump’s association with Epstein at a time when the case has receded from the spotlight.
