Iran's Schools and Hospitals in Ruins, Times Analysis Shows

Source: NYTimes

The scale of devastation is likely far greater than The Times's analysis. The Iranian Red Crescent Society, the country's primary humanitarian relief organization, said on April 2 that at least 763 schools and 316 health care facilities had been damaged or destroyed in the war.

The Times confirmed damage by using high-resolution satellite imagery and by verifying footage from state media or social media sites, including X, Telegram, Instagram and Facebook. The analysis was limited to schools and health care facilities that were damaged on or after Feb. 28, the first day of the war.

The Times's analysis shows that the damage was often caused by strikes in crowded neighborhoods -- especially in Tehran, a capital of 10 million people that is as densely populated as New York City.

The Times was not able to verify the total number of people killed at schools and health care facilities. At least 1,701 civilians have been killed in Iran as of Tuesday, according to the Human Rights Activists News Agency. Among them are students, teachers and health care workers.

In most instances examined by The Times, the intended target of a strike was not clear. In some cases, schools and health care facilities were damaged by nearby strikes; others were directly hit. It was not always possible to determine whether the strikes were by the U.S. or Israeli military.

As with everything the Felon touches, it is ALWAYS worse than we could have ever imagined before this psychopath occupied the White House.

They are bombing civilian infrastructure in densely populated areas in our name -- for the hell of it ("damage was often caused by strikes in crowded neighborhoods -- especially in Tehran" "In most instances examined by The Times, the intended target of a strike was not clear." )

There is no doubt in my mind that these are intentional war crimes for which Trump, Hegseth, and the military leadership and personnel that carried out the strikes must be prosecuted.

Sources of propaganda, however damaging to the interests of U.S. aggressors, are not a legitimate target.

Of course, all the war crimes we are witnessing are being committed under the umbrella of a war of aggression that is, itself, a war crime.

Even if we can catch, prevent, stop some of it they will adapt. They won't stop. And the Iranian people are not going to topple the regime and install a pro US pro western government. Kiss that goodbye now.

The population of Iran is more than double the population of California with a land area that is larger than Texas, California, Montana, and Illinois combined. And his regime of insane ideologues is completely clueless about the scale of the fallout.

Even if we have a nuremberg-type reckoning, the world will be dealing with the terrible consequences unleashed by his criminal war of aggression for decades.

I never dreamed we, as a nation, would come to deliberately targeting and destroying civilians snd civilian infrastructure. We are no better than Putin’s Russia.

And putin willfully used Iran, a supposed ally, as the bait to get trump engaged. Makes me wonder if putin and netanyahu don't have an agreement.
