'Wake up': Israel calls on Australia to join Middle East war
Source: 7 News
Israel has called on Australia to wake up and join the war in Iran as it enters its sixth day and hostilities spill across the Middle East.
Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Sharren Haskel told 7NEWS its time for Australia to participate in the strikes launched by the US and Israel on Iran.
The war is now escalating on all fronts. So my message to Australia is to wake up, she said. I would expect Australia, with its long history of defending humanity and freedom throughout many wars throughout our history
to actually join forces as well.
Haskel insisted for Australians worried about the impact of the war on fuel and gas prices, trade, travel and security that the conflict would be worth it in the long run.

(12,117 posts)That part should be concerning. That is a key indicator that they have lost control of this war.
Listen, we need to demand this not escalate. Our hubris is going to destroy the world.

I see no reason for Australia to jump in anyway. I think they're pretty safe from being bombed. trump and Bibi's ambitions are probably not high priorities for them. I can just see trump saying--Well, if you won't send troops, just send money. Here's the address.

Fuck that guy and anyone who supports him and allows him to remain in power.

(17,414 posts)Gaza, Iran and now Lebanon. Granted Gaza and Lebanon aren't offering much formal military resistence, but Isreal still has to expend troops, ground forces and weapons stocks, fuel and all the other things that make up the logistics tail to keep the territory they took.
The US will running out of missiles soon which also means Israel won't have them either since they depend on the US for most of the hi-tech weaponry. Israel has no other allies coming to its rescue and Russia is actively helping Iran target US forces. Israel needs fresh military assets. But neither the UK or any of the British Commonwealth nations are interested in getting involved.

I agree though. No country should be sending their men and women to die for Bibis war.

...so while I don't think this quote was entirely fabricated, this reporting could be overly selective and context-shy. My eyebrow is raised by the ellipses included in the quote (before the words "to actually join forces as well" ), I'd like to know exactly what was said.
There is a video on the page, but I couldn't get it to play.
