Texas, California National Guard members to leave Portland and Chicago

Source: ABC News

November 15, 2025, 4:48 PM

The 200 federalized California National Guard members sent to Portland, Oregon, and another 200 federalized Texas National Guard members sent to Chicago will return to their home states, according to two U.S. officials.

The federalized Guard troops arrived in those cities in early October but never deployed operationally because of legal challenges that continue playing out in the courts.

Late Friday night, U.S. Northern Command hinted that changes were coming to the federalized troop mission in those cities but provided no details when it it posted on X that "in the coming days, the Department will be shifting and/or rightsizing our Title 10 footprint in Portland, Los Angeles, and Chicago to ensure a constant, enduring, and long-term presence in each city.

The Texas and California Guard members had been activated on federal orders by President Donald Trump in early October and placed on an active duty Title 10 status.

The name of every one of these brown shirt protecting traitors.

They could have stood for the Constitution.

Shame on our military, they look weaker than they think.

They weren’t deployed, they remained on their bases.

What supposed acts of treason did they commit?

I mean, that's a fact. If they went to Chicago, how exactly were they "not deployed"? They were not deployed operationally but they were deployed physically. Maybe next time the fat orange imbecile will use a SC decision to start his "bang bang" dreams on Antifa. These troopers are more than willing to "deploy".

NG troops get moved around the country to respond to disasters, fight fires and assist with other community needs all the time.

In this case, they were stationed (a legal difference to deployed ) at bases in Chicago and Portland, and remained there, as their CO’s obeyed the court orders halting their deployment to the streets of those cities.

Perhaps you should do more reading, and less reacting - there have been numerous stories of both CO’s and enlisted troops saying they would not follow unlawful orders to commit violence against fellow Americans.

They've committed and tRUMP can use them as he wishes. I think that's the takeaway. Intimidation. If you're OK with that, well........ Piece of shit tRUMP knows he's using these troops as an intimidation tactic.

Which is what happened in Portland and Chicago, and now they’re leaving.

Again, you should read more and react less - neither Portland nor Chicago were intimidated by the NG troops who never set foot in their cities, nor have they been intimidated by the ICE terrorists. Instead, the residents of those cities have united in defiance of these terrorists, and have worked to protect their neighbors.
