These are a couple of top level people. I doubt anyone over at the party is exactly dancing a jig about it. True - they may well have known this was coming (forewarned and forearmed). But it ain't exactly GOOD news - and it ain't exactly ho-hum either. Not a great day no matter how you slice the taters.

They WERE top level people. But they're not now. They're just not.

I just don't get what this news means, given the overall corruption of this privatized federal government that's drowning this country in corruption, a sick economy, spreading dark days of governmental attacks on American civilians.

If you think it's not ho-hum, please explain to a fellow Democrat why this is the big deal it's presented as.

It is news. And - I for one, think it should be. (and no - I don't, and won't buy in to either the "bothsiderism", or the "in comparison to what else ..." dodge.

It's wrong - it's relevant - and it should be exposed and reported on.

And - to repeat my point ... If the Democratic party is not precisely 'reeling' tonight - it's pretty safe to say there is not a lot of revelry and gay abandon in evidence either.

It's not even a more newsworthy indictment, it's only an "investigation" and one arrest that's reported. And Democrats should be reeling from that? Sure, an investigation/arrest should be reported. But that the governor and Becerra (who worked under Biden) should be distancing themselves from this for a whole day, wow. And this is not even a federal case yet. Way to go, MSNBC.

And you say they should be "exposed."? when you know by now that what this DOJ exposes are Nothingburgers.

Just consider for a minute this DOJ, and the privatized business 74 million voters put us in.
Consider that this country's gutted federal government is drowning in corruption that runs wide and deep, from violating the emoluments clause of the Constitution to violating the Hatch Act, to money laundering, to fraud, blackmail, covering up child sex trafficking, to tearing down the people's White House -- and those are just the federal crimes they lie about.
Then there's producing a sickened, weak economy; and people dead because of hospital and nursing home shutdowns due to NHS, FAA incompetence; and military style attacks and arrests of non-criminal, law abiding American civilians, to nationwide concentration camps -- these ongoing vengeful acts of convicted felon and his henchmen, to be escalated by 2026.

Go ahead and call it a big deal. Okay, fine.
But I'm still a hard no to MSNBC on this one, and not buying into any of this as important.
One can lose perspective when one thinks one's party must be perfect. Like Obama says, "Better is good." We're the better party, and not just because we're not the corrupt party, but for many other reasons that are historical firsts.

(and, just for clarification - I would not be one of above. at the same time - one can not wheedle around the stark fact that it clearly bears implications for any such ambitions.)

corporate media want to make Democrats think. That right there is what annoys. Cuz it's not about what I think. It's about what MSNBC, like other corporate media, want to train people to think about Democrats beyond the facts.

Because if you or "a whole lot of people tonight" fall for the false equivalency that Democrats have the same legal and corruption problems Republicans do, a whole lot of people fall for a corporate LIE.

People even in California aren't falling for that, so why should we. Seriously. Get a national perspective, and don't be trained on the corporate one. Have you seen any other media followups on this? No? Because it's really not a big deal.

I fear that your overall disenchantment with 'the media' - has allowed you to miss the mark on this particular story (however right you might be about others, or general tenor .. )
