Have to be pretty foolish not to think of them as what they keep saying and showing themselves to be--zealots devoted to their Sacred Cause, eradication of most Jews (at least on 'holy land' and perhaps at least the reduction to sub-Jim-Crow status for those who remain) and the imposition of hardline Sunni-style shari'a law on groups that are subservient ... Non-pious Muslims, women, non-cis/non-chaste, non-Muslims. Of course, that's "intersectional" so some are more privileged that others and others more oppressed ... Mix in a hefty dose of Animal-Farm-like "we have more responsibility, so of course we get to live high on the hog." To use a bit of an inappropriate metaphor, but I'd note that often that kind of 'we deserve more' includes a fair serving of pious hypocrisy.
