White House quickly changes its story after Tom Homan bribery revelations

Source: Raw Story

September 22, 2025 7:08PM ET

The White House is changing its story around "border czar" Tom Homan accepting a $50,000 bribe as Donald Trump's administration was coming into office. Reporting for MSNBC, Ken Dilanian and Carol Leonnig wrote over the weekend that Homan, whose official title is the executive associate director for Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), was caught by special agents in Texas soliciting bribes.

The undercover operation had agents posing as business executives trying to influence government contracts. Homan accepted $50,000 in cash and indicated he would help them get the contract, according to the report.

The report at the time quoted White House deputy press secretary Abigail Jackson attacking the effort as a "blatantly political investigation, which found no evidence of illegal activity, is yet another example of how the Biden Department of Justice was using it’s resources to target President Trump’s allies rather than investigate real criminals and the millions of illegal aliens who flooded our country." That story changed on Monday, however.

Dilanian wrote on X, "The White House is now saying Tom Homan didn't take the $50,000 in cash. That was not part of their statement when we first went to them on Saturday. Multiple people familiar with the case say he did accept the money, as does an internal government document reviewed by MSNBC."

When a case like this happens, there are receipts for the disbursement of cash and perhaps a copy of the bills with serial numbers. Its just like a drug deal follow the money.

or they're on a "special case" in Antarctica at the moment. A Justice Department spokesperson was on all mainstream media yesterday saying he never took any money and "Even Kash Patel's FBI investigated this and found it not to be true." Suuuure they did!

No. 1 - it makes him look "smart" by comparison.
No. 2 - when things go sideways, he always has someone he can blame it on and fire for his mistakes.

And - if someone within the WH was actually silly enough to do so - that version of the story lasted all of about 15 minutes. (together with the 'hook' coming out from stage left)

Other posters are already saying that Homan himself has affirmed, in interview, that he did ....

Edit: WRONG! WH spokesman did say this (on the record). Homan also stated that he did (take the money). And the WH is now spinning that "both statements are true" (simultaneously?) and, "nothing to see here", "hit pieces", "targeting Trump supporters" - yada, yada ...

The lies just become more brazen and barefaced as they mount ...

criminals…”

If only so many of President Trump’s allies WERENT real criminals, maybe he’d have a point. But, as it stands, it’s just DJT claiming he’s a victim for the zillionth time.
