High-powered rifle recovered amid manhunt for Charlie Kirk's killer, FBI says

Source: ABC

The FBI said it has recovered what is believed to be the weapon used in the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk, the founder of the conservative youth activist organization Turning Point USA, during an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.

A "high-powered bolt action rifle,” which officials believe was the weapon used in the shooting, was recovered in a wooded area near where the shooting took place, according to Salt Lake City FBI Special Agent Robert Bohls.

The manhunt for the suspect, who is believed to be college-aged, continues, with officials working "around the clock" to locate the individual, officials said during a press conference on Thursday.

Officials said they have been able to track the movements of the shooter and have "good" video footage of the individual, Utah Department of Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason said on Thursday. The video footage will not be released to the public at this time, Mason said.

It's not a meaningless phrase. Most people who go to college go at that age.

in my home town which was looking into the suspected arson of an outbuilding. The reporter described evidence at the scene as tracks "made sneakers of a size worn by teenagers".

Because the suspect may be male and white.
The suspect left the gun and may have taken the cannoli.

If they won’t release the video. Who knows.

The “college age” description doesn’t say much. People of all ages go to college.

If it was a coordinated attack, a fourth person (a sighter) should have been with the shooter. Maybe he pulled an extension ladder up.

But then, maybe the 2 giving hand signals were just there early for baseball season and getting some early practice in.

were asked by the fourth person to stop a minute and steady the ladder and then resumed practicing hand signals...

While the fifth person didn't video the event.

that there were no EMT units on the scene for a controversial event by a high profile and incendiary speaker in today's political climate with a large group of people? Also, I read that Kirk was taken to the hospital "in a private car".

So:

- Poor security at the scene despite two different law enforcement agencies covering it.
- No EMTs despite the credible concern of an injury.
- Transporting a shooting victim by private car.
- Killed with a single shot.
- Weapon left behind.

Like Alex Jones, et all, just asking questions. I mean Charlie Kirk has been demanding the release of the Epstein Files.

(For the sarcasm impaired, I am not seriously advocating a conspiracy, just underlining how this HAS played out when it was liberals who were attacked/assassinated).

Most of them are using rim-fired ammo, for example all the .22 lr rifles.
The medium powered rifles are using ammo similar to the 5.56mm and 7.68x39mm rounds.

......"chambered" for, was it a factory load or custom, if custom what was the size and weight of the bullet, what powder and how much of it, what kind of scope did he use, the actual distance from the "sniper's nest" to Kirk's pencil neck, and the type of training that the shooter had. How they reconcile all this with the "angry left-wingers are out of control" meme is going to be hard.

I suspect that is a deer rifle. Maybe owned by his father. Of course in a state like Utah it may have been given to him on his sixth birthday.
