A town hall attendee burst into laughter on Tuesday after Rep. Josh Brecheen (R-OK) warned about the second coming of the Ottoman Empire and the implementation of Sharia Law in the United States.
During the chaotic town hall which saw Brecheen be booed, heckled, and confronted throughout the congressman claimed:
There is a massacre and a genocide happening by the Muslim Brotherhood and everybodys focused on Gaza, but the same ideology that Israel has to be around and co-exist with, that will come to America. Weve got Sharia Law trying to be set up in America today. Absolutely we do. You have Sharia Law trying to be established in America today. The Muslim Brotherhood the Muslim Brotherhood is the ideology and youve got a Turkey president Guys, we cannot go turning into chaos. Weve been really good to each other today. Turkey has a president who has made statements relative to re-establishing the Ottoman Empire.
A man in the audience burst into laughter as Brecheen continued, And [Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan] wants to be he wants to be the leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, and so we have to make sure that what is happening in the Middle East, that were not getting focused some place and letting Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood play victim. After a woman in the audience began to shout at the congressman, he snapped, Maam, youre being rude. Youre being rude.

Im now totally freaked out that the Ottoman Empire is coming back to impose Sharia Law on America. I thought the west defeated them outside the walls of Vienna in 1683, but it appears they are back.

This is what happens when you continually spout nonsense in your "bubble world" and then have to go out to the "real world" in front of those who are not as stupid as you are. He forgot that Obama is not currently the President.

It discusses what can or can't be done with Sharia law in the US.
It looks to be used mostly for family disputes. Anytime the Law doesn't
follow US laws the US law takes precident.
The GOP rep is just using scare talking points to avoid his incompetence
and lack of doing what would help actual constituents.

(2,854 posts)... Clinton was president, some asshole senator from Texas, whose name is not worth remembering, proclaimed that, "Bill Clinton never met an education bill he didn't like!" He intended it as a pejorative, but it just served to exposed the Senator as the idiot he truly was.
Republicans hate and fear an educated electorate, because they are far less likely to buy into the simple-minded conservative bullshit malevolently intended to deprive them of the critical thinking skills one needs to survive in a society so grotesquely corrupted by the corporate hive-mind devoted to keeping them stupid gullible, and easy to manipulate.
As Voltaire so sagely noted, "Anyone capable of making you believe absurdities is capable of making you commit atrocities."
The irrefutable proof of that statement now surrounds us.

And it's not the Ottoman Empire, it's the Trumpian Empire they're trying to impose on America.
There are only about 4 million muslims in the US, but I would estimate at least 30 million MAGATS.
So who's the real threat to the United States? A Muslim Brotherhood that has no real power in the US, or the MAGATS who are lead by Republicans who control all 3 branches of our government?

Siege of Vienna, (July 17September 12, 1683), expedition by the Ottomans against the Habsburg Holy Roman emperor Leopold I that resulted in their defeat by a combined force led by John III Sobieski of Poland. The lifting of the siege marked the beginning of the end of Ottoman domination in eastern Europe.
(snip)
Of course it would take almost another 230+ years for WWI and the dissolution of it entirely, along with a whole set of partitions of land that are STILL facing insanity in the Mideast today.
