Source: People

Anne Burrell cause of death has been revealed five weeks after the celebrity chef died at 55.

Burrell died by suicide, PEOPLE can confirm. Her cause of death is specified as "acute intoxication due to the combined effects of diphenhydramine, ethanol, cetirizine, and amphetamine," and was determined by the New York City medical examiner's office. Diphenhydramine and cetirizine are antihistamines, ethanol is a compound found in alcohol and amphetamine is commonly used to treat ADHD.

I watched her on food network and she was entertaining and funny.

I was really bummed when Bourdain took his life. I haven’t watched CNN since that. It was the only thing worth watching.

Is there something about the restaurant world that causes this sort of depression? Or am I just looking at a small sample?

She may not have realized Adderall (amphetamine), Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and Zyrtec (cetirizine) are three meds that you absolutely cannot drink if you’re taking them. Since both the antihistamines are OTC and way too many people think OTC meds are completely safe in all circumstances this makes it worse.

I have said for a while the most dangerous drug is Tylenol because (1) it doesn’t take too much of an OD to catalyze the irreversible destruction of your liver and (2) because they put that shit in everything it’s not hard to unintentionally take a lethal OD.
