Killing of young siblings at Gaza water point shows seeking life's essentials now a deadly peril
Source: The Guardian
The siblings were waiting beside a water distribution station, holding jerry cans and buckets, when it was bombed last Sunday, killing six children and four adults and injuring 19 others, mostly children.
Both Lulu and Karam died instantly, torn apart by the force of the blast and so disfigured that their father prevented Heba from seeing their bodies.

(2,572 posts)... but in today's overheated political atmosphere, it is prudent to remind people that finding Netanyahu's policies shockingly reprehensible is NOT anti-semitic; it is a cogent observation that the man not the nation as a whole has crossed a line. Food and water sources are being used as bait stations for the slaughter of innocents. Nothing can forgive such atrocities.

(896 posts)The people of the nation are letting this happen.
This is the government they elected. Netanyahu's policy represents the will of the majority.
The US needs to stop aiding Israel.

We here in the US are fast approaching the same circumstances in that regard, thanks to our own nest of vipers polluting politics.

(3,284 posts)Not by coincidence either.
It takes many lies to commit a genocide in front of the world and the world not do anything about it.
When it is served up with transparently false and self-serving lies - "human shields", "command-and control-centres" blah blah..
And those lies are taken as truth, swallowed whole, maybe with a wink and a nod while professing regret and even outrage... by Western leaders....
All to provide cover for of a rogue state bent on the destruction of a people to enable its expansion and regional hegemony to further the interests of those Western nations...
Then we start to understand how the world works and that our sorrow and outrage for these children and their parents is useless in stopping it and will be never-ending.
Despair.
