A video of White House deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller praising torture in 2003 is resurfacing once again amid public backlash over President Donald Trumps aggressive immigration policies. The video, posted by VICE in 2017, captured a high school age Miller sitting on a school bus with a mic in hand, arguing apparently facetiously for the use of torture during the Iraq war.
To the issue of the Iraqi civilians. I think that as many of them should survive as possible, because the goal of any military conflict is to kill as few people as possible, Miller argued. But as for Saddam Hussein and his henchmen, I think the ideal solution would be to cut off their fingers. I dont think its necessary to kill them entirely, were not barbaric people, we respect life. Miller continued. Therefore, torture is the way to go.
The now-White House immigration policy adviser said back then tortured people can live and torture is a celebration of life and human dignity. We need to remember that as we enter these very dark and dangerous times in the next century and I only hope that many of my peers and people who will be leading this country will appreciate the value and respect that torture shows towards other cultures, Miller said with a smile.
Former White House spokesperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders dismissed the video in 2017, telling VICE it was created as a joke.

(110,696 posts)made it clear what a disgusting racist he was in high school. And we are supposed to believe these comments that he allowed to be videotaped are FACETIOUS? Did HUFFPO even go to some of his writings of the time--or the interviewed comments from his maternal uncle, who has made it clear that he really is a sadistic monster?
This damned excuse-making for the worst of the MAGA creeps by our side is going to have us all facing unimaginable future consequences.

(25,492 posts)I wouldn't be surprised if he's spearheaded the 'meanness' protocol, that tRUMP seems to be fond of.
And a lot of tRUMP's former allies are finding out just how toxic these creeps truly are. Farmers are finding out that they can't harvast their crops by his over the top hauling off of people, illegal or not. Job markets are already tight, and yet they still turn the screws on.

I guess you don't believe the history I recounted to you, or you somehow want to defend him? When his own classmates and uncle have gone on the record to recount how sadistic he was, even in high school. Then went on to be mentored by that horrible RW monster, David Horowitz, at Duke? Is he not sadistic and NAZI enough for you today to believe that he was NOT simply being "facetious" when he promoted torture and amputation of digits as an overall solution? 'Believe that I am only being rhetorical when I pose the following: gee, Stephen, you come from Jews escaping the Pograms, yet you want to find that "final solution?"
Okay.. The Fourth Reich is on its way with so many sufficiently blind to excuse it all away.
