Landlord seeks to evict Republican congressman over unpaid rent at D.C. apartment

Source: NBC News

July 14, 2025, 9:53 PM EDT

Rep. Cory Mills, R-Fla., is facing a lawsuit seeking his eviction over alleged failure to pay thousands of dollars in rent at a property in Washington, D.C., according to court papers.

In a complaint filed in D.C. Superior Court last week, Bozzuto Management Company said the congressman did not pay a total of $85,009 in rent between March and July. Monthly rent for the property, according to the court filing, is $20,833.

The management company is asking the court to allow it to evict Mills and for an order requiring that he submit future monthly payments with the court until the case is resolved. An initial hearing is scheduled for Sept. 8. The lawsuit was first reported by Roger Sollenberger, an independent journalist.

A resident ledger accompanying the management company's lawsuit appears to show Mills has repeatedly failed to pay his rent on time, and that he was frequently assessed fees for late payments. He moved into the property in June 2023.

There are a bunch of low class repubs in DC. Cory Mills is constantly demonstrating why he is the slimmest, most crooked piece of shit in the House. No redeeming qualities anywhere. Hope he moves in with MTG.

desantis drew up a new congressional map and Mills was an unknown magat backed darling. "Lickspittle" is way too kind. He didn't disappoint tsf. Typical modern repub candidate. He doesn't have to worry about being prosecuted by the DOJ for the crimes he has been committing.

Trump: 'I'm the king of debt'

By Louis Nelson06/22/2016 08:09 AM EDT

Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee for president and self-described “king of debt,” offered a glimpse into his deal-making playbook Wednesday morning as he defended himself from Hillary Clinton’s attacks.

“I’m the king of debt. I’m great with debt. Nobody knows debt better than me,” Trump told Norah O’Donnell in an interview that aired on “CBS This Morning.” “I’ve made a fortune by using debt, and if things don’t work out I renegotiate the debt. I mean, that’s a smart thing, not a stupid thing.”

“How do you renegotiate the debt?” O’Donnell followed up.

“You go back and you say, hey guess what, the economy crashed,” Trump replied. “I’m going to give you back half.”

Government Welfare Queens wear 'Merican flag pins on their lapels and blue suits, and often owe more than $87,000 in unpaid rent and fees.

I save $15.00 by paying in full this month. That's around 2 strip steaks on sale at my local Union Grocery! Woo Hoo! And I'm a Democratic Voter who Always Pays His Bills On Time! 🧐 Unlike your typical meth-popping repuke voter who speaks in tongues every Sunday.
