there is this pervasive subtext that the republicans are military friendly. I think it is started by flag officers sucking around looking for a big fat military contractor teat for retirement.
There was a USCG warrant officer that I had some respect for. He was working his way through the office on a reserve weekend (he was active duty) and discussing this with everyone. When it was my turn I told him that the republicans are friendly to military contractors, not service members. He found the concept satisfying. I hate that the media has managed to turn the entire country towards binary thinking, like the war in Israel. Not many people can grasp the concept that both sides are wrong and will have to find a way out together. So people think "military friendly" means friendly to everyone who has a connection however tenuous with the military. And "business friendly" lumps mom and pop shops with international mega-corporations.
Anyway, I wish some democratic or independent candidate would address "military friendly" regularly. Discuss the treason, cowardice, betrayals of front line troops as well as retirees and families.
